A logo derives meaning from the quality of the thing it symbolizes, not the other way around. - Paul Rand

Meet Andrew Pierce of The Gourmet Agent.

Andrew Pierce is a technologically savvy Realtor who works digitally, saving you time and money. Oh, and he cooks. He’s actually a professional chef too. As you get to know Andrew, you can see how interconnected his businesses are with his life. He works with real estate clients who use him for catering and catering clients who use him to sell their homes. And his clients LOVE him. He uses Virtual Reality to show them homes or to sell their homes and digital marketing to promote, so he’s effective and efficient. He has an incredible business model and he stays busy- really busy.

I met Andrew at a networking event, which by the way, he puts together every month with the support of Rockstar connect. (If you are in Wilmington, NC check them out on Facebook here.) He expressed that he has had a logo for sometime that just didn’t represent him anymore.

It’s critical that your logo tells the right story about your company. You want it to convey your personality and have it be immediately recognizable as unique to your company. -Gabriel Shaoolian

After learning more about his company, his style and his persona, we had a brainstorm session to discuss imagery as well as how he wanted to be represented. He had a strong affinity to pirate imagery, connecting with the renegade spirit the pirate. Representing his chef skills and having a crisp professional logo suited for a Realtor was of the utmost importance. I balanced the visual concepts he was connected to with the clean aesthetic he desired and came up with a first round of 6 black and white logo concepts that all could fit the bill. Et Voila:

We discussed each logo and chose a favorite. With his selection, I used my experience to swap up alignments, play with fonts (even editing an existing font to suit our needs) and experiment with colors, which would best suit the logo needs. After three total rounds, we landed on his new logo. A little pirate, a little chef, yet very professional and definitely Andrew.

The entire design process took place digitally, with 4 short 15-20 min review calls in total over the course of 3 weeks, allowing Andrew to focus on his business and trust the results. No stress and no time wasted.

We both love how it came out but what is most important is that it represents who he is; professional Realtor, incredible chef, renegade businessman: Andrew Pierce, The Gourmet Agent.
